Mary Juanita Reeves

November 5, 1937 — April 12, 2024

Covington Ga

With profound sadness and a sense of peace, the family of Mary Juanita Reeves, known affectionately to friends and family as Juanita, announces her gentle passing on April 12, 2024, in Madison, Georgia. Born to the late Mary and Joseph Hannon in Youth, Georgia, on November 5, 1937, Juanita's journey through life was a testament to love, kindness, and generosity. Preceded by her Husband Hubert Reeves, Son in Law, Jeff Richardson, Great Grandson - Junior Yelton. A devoted mother to Teresa Johns, Faye Renna, Marsha Richardson, and Michael Scott West, she instilled in her children the values of love and kindness that she epitomized. Her warmth extended to her son-in-law, Greg Johns, and Kevin Renna, daughters-in-law, and a beloved sister to Carolyn and LC Chriswell. Her brothers Buddy with Myra Hannon, Ronnie with Alice Faye Hannon, and Roger Hannon shared many cherished memories. Juanita reveled in the lives of her grandchildren, Keri with Steve Yelton, TJ with Shei Harper, Kimberly with Justin McKenzey, Daniel with Jodi Richardson, and Skyler West. She bestowed upon them not just her love but also the joys of simple pleasures. Her great-grandchildren, Torrey Yelton, Jada Harper, Zoe Harper, Kinsley McKenzey, Kelsey McKenzey, and Silas Richardson will forever cherish the wisdom and tenderness she imparted. An excellent seamstress and an avid gardener, she upheld the traditions of canning and created culinary delights, with her dumplings being the best around. Her love for gospel music, fishing, and fellowship through her church were pillars of her contented life. Above all, the vegetable garden was a haven reflective of her simple, kind spirit. Even into her mid-80s, Juanita's hardworking nature never wavered. To have known Juanita was to know a love unbounded and a generosity of spirit that nourished all around her. Her legacy is a tapestry of nurturing love, home-cooked meals, and tenderly cultivated gardens, each thread an echo of her enduring devotion to her family and her faith. Juanita will be lovingly remembered and missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life's journey. A Memorial Service for Juanita Reeves will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Greg Johns officiating.
