Melvin Ronald Bartlett

Melvin Ronald Bartlett, age 86, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023. The oldest son of Melvin and Kathryn Bartlett, he was born in Scottsbluff, NE in 1936, and graduated from Scottsbluff High School, class of 1954. Mr. Bartlett served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in the meat packing industry for over 50 years. Mr. Bartlett served and worshipped faithfully at Chapel Woods Presbyterian Church in Decatur, GA, McConnell Memorial Baptist Church in Hiawassee, GA and recently, the First Baptist Church in Covington, GA. His lifelong passion was missions. He led over 50 short-term mission trips throughout the world. Mr. Bartlett was a member of Gideons International for over 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, of 66 years; daughters, Sherry Duncan and her husband Mark; Cathy Ingram and her husband, Jas; grandchildren, Chris Duncan and wife Andrea, Sean Duncan and wife Amber, Adam Ingram and wife Alisha, Allie Burch and husband John and 10 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Bartlett will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Dr. Cody McNutt and Pastor Sean Duncan officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home two hours prior to his service from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Gideons International, P.O.
