Michael "Mickey" Clay of Sandersville, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the age of 68. Mr. Clay grew up in Walton County. After 33 years of dedicated service, he retired from Hercules. Mr. Clay enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Coleman and Louise (Hyatt) Clay; sisters, Sarah Capes, Rebecca Meaux, Frances Harris; brothers, Ralph Clay, Kenny Clay.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Terri and Michael Spivey, Tina Clay; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathleen Clay; grandchildren, Jacob Spivey, Tia Guinn, Trevon Clay, Michael Thomas Clay; sister, Diane McCart; brothers, William "Billy" Clay, Dennis "Jerry" Clay; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Clay will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019, 4:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. J.B. Leachman officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, 1310 Harmony Church Road, in Monroe. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Saturday, June 1, two hours prior to the service, from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M.
