Access RoadMichael Edward McGee, Jr., of Covington, died August 19, 2012, at the age of 32. Michael was a published author of poetry and short stories; and a member of the Who's Who of America Organization. He enjoyed reading, Anime, and attending Dragon*Con conventions. He loved cats, and often volunteered with animal rescue. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Olga McGee; and his grandfather, Robert Hicks.Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Chere McGee of Covington; mother and step-father, Julia and Larry Benton of McDonough; father and step-mother, Michael Edward, Sr., and Gwenda McGee of Duncan, OK; sister, Jessica Benton of McDonough; grandmother, Joelene Hicks of Griffin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kevin and Michelle Meeves of Childersburg, AL; step-brothers, Cory, Jarrod, and Chase Hutto of Hampton, GA and Duncan, OK; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Funeral Services for Michael will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012, 10:00 AM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 10235 Eagle Drive, in Covington, with Bishop Dean Meisner officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Friday, August 24, from 6:00-8:00 PM.
