Mildred Parish Walden, age 87, of Covington, passed away September 20, 2014. Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, W.H. (Bill) Walden. In addition to being an avid sports fan, she enjoyed cooking, especially chocolate cakes. Mrs. Walden will be remembered as a good Christian woman, who devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Anita and Jim Wildman of Oxford, Teresa and Billy Childers of Walterboro, SC; grandchildren, Lori and Chris Mason of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Brady and Bain Head of Houston, TX, Buzz and Christi Childers of Covington, Beth Prescott of Walterboro, SC, Cindy and Alan Conley of Sugar Hill, GA; great-grandchildren, D. J. Childers, Emily Mason, Jackson Mason, Caroline Mason, Will Childers, Kyle Childers, Chase Childers, Kate Head, A.J. Conley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Junelle Ellis, Judy and Buddy Allen, Sara and J.T. Bohannon, all of Covington; brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry and Linda Parish of Covington, Walker Parish of McDonough; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda Walden and Leola Walden, Patricia and Walker Hegwood, Troy and Pat Walden, Roy and Betty Walden, Ed Walden, Larry and Sandra Walden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Walden will be held Monday, September 22, 2014, 2:00 PM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Hegwood and Mr. Troy Walden officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Monday, two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 Noon - 1:45 PM.
