Access RoadMillard "Buddy" Rowe of Newborn, passed away July 2, 2012, at the age of 87. Buddy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served his country during World War II. He was a deacon and charter member of Parkwood Hills Baptist Church, as well as Deacon Emeritus at Shiloh Baptist Church. He founded the Georgia Hummers Association and Newborn Taxidermy; and co-founder of the Newborn Horneyhead Festival and Fishing Tournament. Buddy enjoyed photography, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and bee keeper. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Elizabeth (Jackson) Rowe; and his parents, Claude Millard and Maggie Lee (Adams) Rowe. Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and Alan King of Dunlap, TN, Elisa Rowe of Newborn; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Vicki Rowe of Covington; granddaughter, Michelle Price and her husband, Ernest of Newborn; grandsons, Jason Rowe of Social Circle, Andy Rowe and his wife, Brynne of Covington; great-grandchildren, Skyler Price, Kensley Rowe, Emma Rowe, Eli Rowe, Cash Rowe; three brothers; one sister; several nieces and nephews.Funeral Services for Buddy will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012, 11:00 AM, at Shiloh Baptist Church, in Newborn, with Rev. Danny Sorrells officiating, and interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Tuesday, July 3, from 6:00-8:00 PM; as well as Wednesday, July 4, from 6:00-8:00 PM.
