Minnie Davenport, lovingly known as Minnie, brought warmth and light to all who knew her. Born on February 12, 1935, in Covington, GA, where she remained a lifelong resident, Minnie passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, in the same community that shaped her cherished memories. Minnie's kindness and thoughtfulness, qualities that shone through her devotion to her family and her role as a wonderful mother. Her marriage to the late Hobert TL Davenport spanned 37 treasured years. Minnie was also preceded in death by her parents, Gip and Kittie Davis, who instilled in her the values of love and community that she upheld all her life. She is survived by a family that was the center of her world: daughter Michelle Watts; son and daughter-in-law Chris and Kathy Hopkins; stepson Jerry Davenport; and a generation of grandchildren who were her pride and joy—Landan and Lacie Watts, Lauren and Austin Clark, Christopher and Jamie Hopkins, Alex and Amarelis Hopkins, Celeste and Jared Wall, Lindsey Davenport, and Cameron and Hayley Davenport. Minnie's legacy is continued through her eleven great-grandchildren and the affection of numerous nieces and nephews. Minnie's passion extended to her joy in visiting the mountains and the beach, finding solace in the beauty of nature. Her heart was as large as the open vistas she adored, her kind spirit a beacon that lives on in the memories of her loved ones. Minnie Davenport will be remembered as the embodiment of love and giving—a woman whose life was a testament to the power of kindness.
