Mitch Nicholson, 38, of Covington, died July 3, 2018. Mitch, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, was a fun-loving friend who enjoyed life. He was a hard worker and was employed by numerous roofing companies for the last several years. Mitch loved being on the water. Swimming, boating and vacationing at the beach were among his favorite pastimes. He was an adoring father, loving son and friend to many. Mitch will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Junior Nicholson, I; and his sister, Laura Cargile.

Survivors include his son, Gage Nicholson; mother and step-father, Donna and Jimmy Monk of Social Circle; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Chris Richardson of Covington; former wife, Autumn Nicholson of Covington; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mitch will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Chris Allen officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with his family, at the funeral home, Friday, July 6, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the Gage Nicholson Educational Fund. Contributions can be made in person at any Synovus location, or by mail to Synovus, 3106 Highway 278, Covington, GA 30014.
