Mittie Lou Wilkerson Owenby

Mittie Lou Wilkerson Owenby of Lawrenceville, passed away November 21, 2011, at Gwinnett Medical Center. She was 83 years old at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lamar Owenby; parents, Charlie Autry and Mary Grace (Barnett) Wilkerson; sister, Jo Ann Sims; and brother, Gerald Wilkerson. Mrs. Owenby was employed by Southern Bell for several years, and retired from the State of Georgia. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington, Eastern Star and Women's Auxiliary for the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include daughter and sons-in-law, Lou Ann Seavey of Allatoona, IA, Georgia and R.G. Baker, Janet and Gregory Burdett, all of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Hope Chastain, Jimmy Woodward, Joshua Burdett, Velvet Hildebrand, April Johnston, Holly Elliott, Brian Woodward, Michael Seavey, Geoffrey Burdett; as well as 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Owenby will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, November 25, from 6 - 8 P.M.
