Musette Meadows Fisher

Musette Meadows Fisher of Oxford, GA was called home on November 28th, 2023 at the age of 84.

Musette was born in Monroe, GA on January 11, 1939. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1957, where she played basketball and formed lifelong friendships.

She married Coach Wilbur Fisher on May 18th, 1963. They moved to Covington, GA and raised two daughters.  She worked at First National Bank, the Bank of Covington and eventually retired from Snapping Shoals EMC.  She had a very strong work ethic and derived great joy from serving her customers.

Musette was a long-time devoted member of Salt and Light Christian Church, where she led a Sunday School class for ladies and was involved in other programs.  She loved her church family and was affectionately known as “The Hugging Lady”.  She considered giving hugs as her ministry.  She always made sure that everyone who needed a hug received one.  Musette was a faithful and true servant of the Lord. Her faith was unshakeable and she was a powerful Prayer Warrior.

Musette is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Elizabeth Meadows, Sr, her beloved sister Brenda Downs and her loving husband of 52 years Wilbur. She is survived by her siblings Peggy Day and Edwin Meadows, Jr., her two daughters Audra Fisher and Amy Hoffman, son-in-law Hal Hoffman, granddaughter Aleah Hill, and great-granddaughters Nova and Willow, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

A memorial service honoring Musette will be held at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home on Saturday, December 9th, 2023 at 2:00 PM, with visitation prior to the service from 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM.
