Nancy Smith

Nancy Smith, of Oxford, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at the age of 68. Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Newton County. She worked for 17 years as the Office Manager for Lubrication Service and Systems, in Oxford, where she made lifelong friends. Mrs. Smith enjoyed dancing and singing, trips to Cherokee Casinos, and finding a good deal at yard sales. She loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandsons, especially her “Sunshine Boy”, Leland. Mrs. Smith will be remembered for giving family members their nicknames, her sweet personality, and for never withholding what was on her mind.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Smith; parents, Tommy Lee and Florine Womack; sister, Florine Womack; brother, Jim Womack; and her beloved Pomeranian Gabby.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Rowe (Jason) of Oxford; son, Charles “Chuck” Smith (Diana) of Diamondhead, MS; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Womack Yates of Oxford, Faustine Payne of McDonough; brother, Tommy Womack of Savannah; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Visitation for Mrs. Smith will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 P.M., at Water Oak Baptist Church, 1990 Carr Road, in Conyers.
