Naomi "Granny B" Rice

Access Road Naomi "Granny B" Rice, of Oxford, passed away December 22, 2012, at the age of 73.  Utmost in her life was her strong faith in God.  She was sincerely devoted to and enjoyed spending time with her husband and family.  Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her father, "Dewey" Howard Hendrix; mother, Willie Mae (Wade) Brock, better known as "Granny Brock"; sisters, Ruth Burris and Janice Tumlin; and several brothers.   Survivors include her loving husband, of 38 years, L.B. Rice; daughter, Angela Croy; son, Jeff Lunsford all of Oxford; stepson, Lewis Rice of Monticello; grandchildren, Scotty Croy of Covington, Daniella Croy of Oxford, Tracy Bruce of Covington, and Valerie Rice of Monticello; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Eva Harrison of Winder and Brenda Haney of Covington; brothers, Ralph, Henry and William Brock all of Eatonton; and several nieces and nephews.   Funeral Services for Mrs. Rice will be held Thursday, December 27, 2012, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Kenneth Hawkins officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, December 26, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
