Floyd StreetNellie Grace (Fleming) Smith of Conyers, passed away April 23, 2010, at the age of 98. Mrs. Smith was a member of Zion Baptist Church for over 90 years. She worked for Bibb Manufacturing Company for over 25 years, and also farmed with her husband in her earlier years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, walking and attending her exercise classes. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Smith, Sr.; son, Clifford Smith; parents, William Thomas Hightower and Martha Elizabeth (Moss) Fleming; 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ollie and Jerry Smith, Sr., of Conyers; sons and daughters-in-law: Jonas M. (Jr.) and Doris Smith of Leesburg, FL, Sidney R. and Jennie Smith of Roanoke, VA; sister, Sara Ruth Henderson of Oxford; grandchildren: Jerry Smith Jr., Jeff and  his wife, Dara Smith, Katie Smith Gay and her husband, Nathanael Gay, Matthew and his wife, Liz Smith, Greg Smith; great-grandchildren: Blake Smith, Olivia and Logan Smith, Noah, Caleb and Emma Gay, Ethan, Madelyn and Benjamin Smith. Funeral Services for Mrs. Smith will be held Monday, April 26, 2010, 2:00 PM, at Zion Baptist Church, in Covington, with Rev. Reese Sanders officiating, with interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, Sunday, April 25, from 6-8 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Zion Baptist Church, 7037 Highway 212, Covington, GA 30016; or the Alzheimer's Association-Georgia Chapter, 1925 Century Boulevard NE, Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345.
