Nina Mae Burnham, of Porterdale, passed away December 14, 2013, at the age of 66. She was a lifetime member of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and the youth leader since 1980. She loved her church family, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Mrs. Burnham enjoyed cooking and baking, and was the owner of Burnie's BBQ in Porterdale. She was preceded in death by her parents, Plinnie Wilson and Eva Mae (Bailey) Bowen; and brothers, Roy and Troy Bowen.
Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Lawrence Burnham of Porterdale; son, Richard Burnham of Covington; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Burnham, Emily Burnham, Julie Burnham; sisters, Jane Scoggins of Porterdale, Jean Garner of Covington; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Burnham will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013, 2:00 PM, at Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church, 3 Cotton Street, in Porterdale, with Rev. Kelly Brisendine, Doug Doster and Rev. John Ozley officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Tuesday, December 17, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 9:00 PM.
