Norma J. Travis of Covington, passed away January 15, 2013, following a long illness. Norma was 80 years old at the time of her death. She and her husband, Glenn, were both active members of the First United Methodist Church, in Covington. She attended college at Brigham Young University, in Ogden, UT, Sul Ross State University, in Alpine, TX, and Georgia State University, in Atlanta. She was actively involved in local and state political activities where she made significant contributions. Norma is loved, and will be missed by her family and friends.Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Glenn W. Travis; daughters, Priscilla Travis, Melinda D'Aun McKittrick; son, Steven F. Travis; daughter-in-law, Michelle Travis; granddaughters, Allison Travis, Kierston McKittrick; grandsons, Glenn W. Travis, II, Atticus McKittrick, and Zachary McKittrick. Funeral Services for Norma will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013, 2:00 PM, at First United Methodist Church, in Covington, with Rev. Dr. Douglas Gilreath officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Friday, January 18, from 6:00-8:00 PM.
