Access RoadOpal Henry of Covington, passed away September 15, 2010, at the age of 86. Mrs. Henry was a member of High Point Baptist Church, and was well-known in the High Point community for her cooking and canning. She was employed by Bibb Manufacturing Company for several years before working as a medical secretary at Newton County Hospital (now Newton Medical Center). Mrs. Henry retired from the state training center which served in helping the mentally challenged. She was the last of her six siblings surviving. Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her husband, James Coleman Henry; and her parents, Joe and Maggie Kitchens. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. Reginald C. (Vickie B.) Henry of Covington; grandson, Ashley Spencer Henry of Commerce; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Henry will be held Friday, September 17, 2010, 11:00 AM, at High Point Baptist Church, with Pastor Justin Hiens and Pastor Russell Davis officiating, and interment following in High Point Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Thursday, September 16, from 5-8 PM.
