Access RoadPercy Taylor Marchman of Lilburn, GA passed away on October 17, 2011 at the age of 89. Born in Veasey, GA on February 21, 1922, he graduated from Berry College in 1947 after serving in the United States Army in the Philippines in World War II. His first retirement was from Cotton States Insurance Companies where he served for 35 years retiring as Senior Vice President. His second retirement was in 1996 from Marchman-Steele Agency where he served as Executive Director of the Georgia Insurers Insolvency Pool and the Georgia Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Association for 14 years. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vicki Marchman, daughter Janis Steele, son Mike and his wife Anne, 4 grandchildren, Ashley and Taylor Steele, Mike, Jr. and his wife Edith, and Pat Marchman and 2 great granddaughters, Charlotte and Reagan that are all the apples of his eye. He is also survived by 5 siblings, Willene Lockery, Naomi Credille, Ray Marchman, Jerry Stewart and his wife Carolyn, and June Norman and her husband Calvin, and a host of nieces and nephews. Percy and Vicki were lifelong members of several Baptist Churches most recently at Smoke Rise Baptist. They also continued to be active in service to Berry College as Trustee Emeritus where they met and married. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated and can be made to the "Percy Marchman Endowed Scholarship at Berry College" P.O. Box 490069, Mount Berry, and GA 30149. Visitation will be held at Caldwell & Cowan Chapel, 1215 Access Rd., Covington, GA on Thursday October 20 from 5:30 - 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Jack Wilson and be held at First Baptist Church of Covington, Corner of Elm and Floyd Streets, Covington, GA on Friday October 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM followed by interment at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
