Pete Cummins, of Oxford, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at the age of 64. Pete’s career as a truck driver began with him in the role as an owner and operator before he went to work for FedEx, where he remained a dedicated employee for an amazing 30 years. His over-the-road travels often included his wife, Suzanne, who not only kept him company but took turns driving as they covered countless miles of asphalt. Over the years, they passed through 48 of the 50 states. Freedom of the open road always called to Pete - he was a motorcycle aficionado and proud owner of both a 2003 Harley Heritage and a 2010 Harley Ultra. Additionally, he was an avid snow skier and a skilled swimmer. But of all the things that brought Pete pleasure, nothing compared to his love of family, and he was regarded by those closest to him as being a kind husband, a thoughtful father, and a doting grandfather. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth (Bannehr) Cummins.
Pete’s life and the countless memories he created will continue on in the hearts of his wife of 37 years, Suzanne Cummins; daughter and son-in-law, Danyelle Lundy and John Harper; son and daughter-in-law, David G. and Trisha Lewis; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Judy Cummins; nephew, Rich Beringer; cousins, Barb Minnervini, Christie Herman; several other cousins; as well as his furry sidekick, Hudson - his beloved dog.
A Celebration of Life for Pete will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
