Rafael Menchaca

Rafael Menchaca, age 39, of Covington, passed away January 8, 2014. Rafael was proud of his heritage, and he loved spending time with his family - especially his children. He loved everything he did, and was always in a good mood, playing jokes and making everyone laugh. He enjoyed listening to music, riding horses, and going to his son, Ricardo's, baseball games. Rafael was preceded in death by his son, Josue Menchaca; and his father, Urbano Menchaca.

Survivors include his wife, Erika Hernandez; daughters, Ruby Menchaca and Tania Menchaca; sons, Erik Menchaca and Ricardo Menchaca; mother, Ofelia Delgado; sisters, Marta Menchaca, Nancy Menchaca, Susana Menchaca; brother, Alonso Menchaca; several nieces and nephews; as well as many loved ones and friends.

A Funeral Mass for Rafael will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014, 1:00 PM, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Covington, with Rev. Roberto A. Orellana officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, Covington, Friday, January 17, from 5:00 - 9:00 PM.
