Access RoadRaymond Andrew Boyer of Conyers, passed away November 11, 2011, at the age of 93. Mr. Boyer was born June 14, 1918, in Sparta, GA, to the late Alex and Mollie (Schell) Boyer. A veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Boyer served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He married Jean Camp, September 4, 1954; and they welcomed their baby girl, Debby, November 20, 1956. He was an honor graduate at Georgia State University, where he earned his BA in Business Administration. Mr. Boyer began his life-long career at SunTrust Bank, in 1938; and became a Certified Public Accountant, in July 1956. He was appointed Vice President, in International Banking, in 1954; and then appointed Senior Vice President and General Auditor, in 1974. He served as President, of the Atlanta Chapter, and National Director of the National Association of Accountants; and served on the Board of Trustees, at Egleston Children's Hospital, from 1967-1981. Mr. Boyer retired, after 45 years of distinguished service, at SunTrust Bank as the Senior Vice President and General Auditor. He was past Chairman of the Trust Commission of the Bank Administrative Institute; past Member of the Institute's Board of Directors; past Trustee of the Catherine E. Miles Chair of Accountancy, at Georgia State; and served on the Board of Directors, of Stockholder Systems, Inc., in 1983. He was a member of the Atlanta Athletic Club, and faithful member of Briarcliff Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf, quail hunting, gardening, traveling, wood work, and old time country and gospel music. Mr. Boyer was a loving and devoted husband, dad and Pap-pa. Mr. Boyer is survived by his wife, Jean Camp Boyer of Conyers; daughter and son-in-law, Debby and Joe Kirby of Dothan, AL; granddaughter, Emily Ann Kirby of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; grandson, Ryan Andrew Kirby of Orlando, FL.A Graveside Service for Mr. Boyer will be held Monday, November 14, 2011, 2:00 PM, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, in Duluth. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Sunday, November 13, from 4:00-6:00 P.M.
