Rebecca "Becky" Ann Wages, of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the age of 71. Mrs. Wages attended Beacon Heights Baptist Church and Blackwood Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir and was a member of the Women’s Ministry. Mrs. Wages lived with and served as her parents’ caregiver. She loved to cook for everyone and went to every event for her grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews – whom she especially loved. Mrs. Wages was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Betty Jo Pickett; brother, Tony Allison; niece, Lisa Jo Bachelor; grandmother, Rozzie Pierce.
Survivors include her son, Donald Wages, Jr. (Patton); daughter, Cristina Thacker (William); step-daughter, Donna Sims (Steven); granddaughters, Amber Ivey (Brent), Madison Thacker, Elizabeth Thacker; grandsons, Brayden Wages, Daniel Thacker; great-grandchildren, Tyler Ivey, Ava Ivey; brother, Denny Pickett (Vivian); sister, Jeanne Parkman (Jack); step-sisters, Toby Armor, Luan Hardeman (Tony); step-mother, Wilma Pickett; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Wages will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, two hours prior to her service, from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org.
