Renee Shelnutt

Renee Shelnutt, of Covington, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, at the age of 45. Renee was a faithful member of Gaithers United Methodist Church. A beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, she loved her family dearly, especially her husband, Simon. Caring in nature, Renee enjoyed being a mom to everyone, helping with Boy Scouts, and mentoring several children in her community. She had a “larger than life” personality, loved animals, and enjoyed cooking, playing softball, fishing, and squirrel hunting with her Paw Paw Frix. But most of all, Renee relished in the time spent with her family, as she was their “rock”, and her world was complete when she became a mom.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 26 years, Simon Shelnutt; daughter, Kaitlyn Shelnutt; son, Riley Shelnutt; parents, Gene and Sallie Mann; sister, Michelle Harvey; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Katie Mann; sister-in-law, Laura Ghia and husband, Dharmen; brother-in-law, Sam Shelnutt; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Harvey, Matthew Harvey and wife, Natalie, Dylan Mann, Madison Mann, Ethen Ghia, Nathan Ghia, Leslie Roddy and husband, Matthew, Seth Shelnutt, Walker Shelnutt and wife, Kristen.

A Memorial Service for Renee will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021, 6:00 P.M., at Gaithers United Methodist Church, 1375 Newton Factory Shoals Bridge Road, in Covington, with Rev. Andy Parker officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the church, one hour prior to her service, from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M.
