Richard Frederick Lingner of Covington, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 74 years of age. Mr. Lingner was a pilot for Eastern Airlines, Miami Air, and Standridge Color for more than 45 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Alvin and Mary Virginia (Strong) Lingner-Wannamaker.
Survivors include his wife Alvida Lingner of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and John Ott of Monroe; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Tanya Lingner of Social Circle; grandchildren, Richard and Caroline Thomas, Isabel Ott, all of Monroe, Jackson Lingner, Baylor Lingner, both of Social Circle; great-grandson, Herschel Thomas of Monroe; nieces, Erica Gentzen, Lori Gentzen, Christy Gentzen, all of Miami, FL; nephew, Rick Gentzen and his wife, Mary, also of Miami, FL.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Lingner will be held Saturday, August 12, 2017, 12:00 Noon, at First United Methodist Church, 400 South Broad Street, in Monroe, with Pastor Rob Raynor, Pastor Steve Lay, and Rev. Dr. Dane Wagner officiating. Friends may visit with his family, at the church, one hour prior to his service, from 11:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Extra Special People, 189 VFW Drive, Watkinsville, GA, extraspecialpeople.kindful.com.
