Robert J. Griffith

Robert J. Griffith of Covington, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019, at the age of 65. Robert retired from Newton County as the former Director of Public Works after many years of service. He enjoyed yard work and traveling to Atmore and Biloxi to the casinos. Robert loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Grace Griffith.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda L. Griffith; daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Chris Burton; grandchildren, Brittany and Cody Wathen, Kayla Hammond; great-grandchild, Hudson; sister, Elizabeth Peralta; brother, Pat Yancey; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Griffith will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Monday, January 14, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
