Robert M. (Bob) Hardy

Robert M. (Bob) Hardy, Sr. of Covington, passed away October 21, 2016, at the age of 72. In his role as a police officer, Mr. Hardy dedicated much of his life to serving and protecting others. He retired in 2009 as a Lieutenant with the Doraville Police Department. Mr. Hardy's love for family and church was evident to those around him, and could only be matched by his adoration for the Georgia Bulldogs. Spending time outdoors, be it walking in the woods or going for a drive, were also favorite pastimes. Preceding him in death were his father, O'Dell Hardy, and his brother, Police Lieutenant Ronald Hardy.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Rhonda and Tim Culbreth of McDonough, Bob, Jr. and Rhonda Hardy of Gainesville, Christie Samsoodeen of Loganville; mother, Doris Carver Hardy of Covington; grandchildren, Ryan Culbreth, Jeremy Culbreth, Noah Hardy, Chase Hardy, Justin Garcia, Zayd Samsoodeen; great-granddaughter, Sienna Bishop; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Joe Creamer of Senoia, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Hardy will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2016, 11:00 AM, at Peoples Baptist Church, 850 Mill Road, McDonough, with Dr. David McCoy, and Rev. Jerry Barrett officiating. Interment to follow in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, 2120 Keys Ferry Road,McDonough. Friends may visit with his family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Monday, October 24, from 5 - 8 PM
