Robert Herschel Mullinax, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the age of 72.
Robbie, as he was better known, loved life. He found humor and fun everyday. He never met a stranger and found joy in every conversation. He loved to fish, especially deep-sea fishing. He always found a time for his motorcycle, vacations, and camping in his camper. Robbie was a fan of cowboy movies, especially “Have Gun - Will Travel,” and “Gunsmoke” which he watched daily. He was also a huge fan of NASCAR even to the point that he was a volunteer firefighter at some races. In addition, Robbie was a talented handyman and could fix it all. He has been a fighter his whole life, facing each medical challenge with optimism and faith. He is the recipient of not one, but two kidney transplants on the same day, December 10th. When the first need arose in 1997, his eldest son was able to donate his kidney. Then on that same day 17 years later, he was blessed to receive a donated kidney which gave him a new lease on life. His family often joked that December 10th was his 2nd birthday. Above all else, the time he spent with his family, practicing baseball, adding funny words to songs, laughing, eating, and getting hugs from his grandchildren, is what he treasured most. He loved his family dearly.
Robbie was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Bruce and Inez (Moon) Mullinax; brothers, Howard Mullinax and wife, Pat; Michael Mullinax, and Paul Mullinax.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Mullinax; sons, Craig Mullinax (Veronica), Justin Mullinax (Alison), Bo Mullinax (Amanda); grandchildren, Krystin Brown (Travis), Katie, Aaron, Triston, Abigail, Samuel, Dean, and Zachary; great-grandchild, Stellan Brown; brother, Randy Mullinax (Shawn); as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
