Roger G. St. Clair, of Social Circle, passed away at the age of 92. Mr. St. Clair was a devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and joy. Known for his warm spirit and infectious whistle, he never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army, stationed in Anniston, AL, before dedicating his life to his family, faith, and community. A man of deep devotion, he met the love of his life at a tent revival, declaring to his cousin Pete that he would marry her before ever speaking to her—a promise he fulfilled in a 62-year marriage. His greatest desire in the last 8½ years was to be reunited with her.
Mr. St. Clair was a passionate sports fan, cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs. He loved gardening, cutting grass, and fixing clocks. His dog Gryffin was always by his side, often while he mowed the lawn or worked with his hands.
He played a vital role in his church community, helping to start churches and always lending a helping hand. Above all, he cherished his family—his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy.
His life was a beautiful example of love, faith, and hard work. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Blessed with many friends who have reached out and offered support
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred St. Clair; grandson, Seth St. Clair; parents, Robert and Annie St. Clair; brothers, Andrew St. Clair, Clarence St. Clair, Elmer St. Clair, Emory St. Clair, Henry St. Clair, Luther St. Clair, Robert St. Clair, Roland St. Clair; sisters, Marjorie Slocum, Annie St. Clair.
