Ronald Lawrence Bartow

Ronald Lawrence Bartow, of Covington, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at the age of 83. Mr. Bartow was a member of First Baptist Church of Covington where he was a deacon, sang in the choir, went on several mission trips, and helped around the church with odd and end jobs.

He was a dedicated employee at Atlanta Fire for 32 years, where he made lifelong friends with the guys he worked with. He won fireman and employee of the year, and for most of his life, he worked three jobs. Mr. Bartow enjoyed woodworking and tinkering around. He never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. Mr. Bartow loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Chelsey and Hazel Heard Bartow; and brother, Donald Zoras Bartow.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores Banks Bartow; daughters, Dawn Bartow, Deana Greer (Eddie); grandchildren, Melissa Greer (Brannon Thompson), Robin Coakley (Tony), Robert Evan Greer; and great-grandson, Tucker Coakley.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Bartow will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, 2:00 P.M., at the First Baptist Church of Covington, 1139 Usher Street, in Covington, with Rev. Len Strozier and Dr. Cody McNutt officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the Fellowship Hall at the church, one hour prior to his service, from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Covington Mission Fund, 1139 Usher Street, Covington, GA 30014.
