Access RoadRoscoe Earl DuBose, Sr., of Covington, passed away November 9, 2011, at the age of 96. Mr. DuBose was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served his country during World War II. Mr. DuBose managed Smith's Meat Department, in Avondale; and was owner of DuBose and Sons Country Meat Market. He retired from Atlanta Provision Company, as a wholesale meat sales representative. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Atlanta Braves, and anything on RFD-TV. Mr. DuBose cherished and loved his family and friends. He never met a stranger, and never had an enemy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Louise (Cloud) DuBose; great-granddaughter, Delilah Crutchfield; parents, John Chester and Nellie (Johnson) DuBose; sister, Mary Lee Gay; and his brothers, Bryan Allen DuBose, Wallace Rudy DuBose, Marvin DuBose.Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Roscoe Earl, Jr., and Jean Brank DuBose of Conyers, Jerry D. and Becky DuBose of Douglasville; daughter - Karen Louise DuBose (Cook) and Michael Cook of Covington; grandchildren, Susan Torbush, Jed DuBose, Michael Ros DuBose, Matthew David DuBose, Dawn Parker, Katie LeAnne Tillman, Thomas Harrison Tillman; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Funeral Services for Mr. DuBose will be held Monday, November 14, 2011, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Westview Cemetery, in Atlanta. The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, Monday, from 9:00-11:00 AM.
