Mr. Roy Page, Jr. of Oxford died August 27, 2011 at the age of 83. Roy was born in Columbus, GA, in July 1928 to Roy, Sr. and Annie Mae Miller Page. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII and worked in the textile manufacturing industry for several years. After retiring, he and his wife owned and operated Page's Service Station located on Hwy. 138, for 16 years. His main interest was his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Roy Page III.
Roy is survived by his wife, Ophelia Page of Oxford; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Young and Jerry Tweedell of Loganville, Gloria and James Martin of Oxford; sisters, Thelma Page, Chris Page both of Florida, Jessie Shellman of Alabama; brothers, John Page of Conyers, Gordon Page of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services for Roy will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, 11:00 A.M. at the Access Road Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with Rev. Tracy Puckett and Mr. Lamar Ford officiating, interment will follow in East Shadowlawn Cemetery in Lawrenceville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, 6:00 until 9:00 P.M.
