Ruby Joann Hix

Ruby Joann Hix, 84, of Madison, Georgia,  passed away at home on December 31, 2023. She was born in Conyers, Georgia on February 20, 1939, to Hubert and Kate Robertson.

After Joann retired from Stone Mountain Park, she and her husband spent much of their time ensuring that their land was kept in the most pristine condition and anyone that visited them expressed how beautiful their property was. After the passing of her husband, Joann continued to ensure their property was taken care of. She often told stories about where all the many heirloom flowers came from and how the property was transformed from a soybean field to the home in which she was incredibly proud of. She enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones. She was always busy baking cakes and pies or making jams and jellies to give to the ones that visited her. She was a faithful Christian and loved the Lord, her family, her community, and her church. She offered love and support to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by many.

Joann was preceeded in death by her husband, E. Wayne Hix; her daughters Jeri Denise Jones and Kathy Diane Bleau; her sister Betty Hopkins; and her parents Hubert and Kate Robertson. Survivors include her daughter Deborah McLendon; Grandchildren Joseph Bleau, Heather Bleau, Kimberly Mims and Adam Sexton, sister Dorothy Hewell, brother Douglas Robertson; several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

In honor of her wishes, no funeral or memorial services will be held.
