Sadie Lee Bennett of Covington, passed away April 22, 2012, at the age of 97. Mrs. Bennett was a faithful member of Harvest Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafts and painting; but more than anything she loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoke Thomas Bennett, Sr.; son, Hoke Thomas Bennet, Jr.; parents, Jordan and Myrtice (Haney) Baker; sons-in-law, George Heaton, Jr., and Tommy Millwood, Sr.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Dwayne Cooper of Monticello, Mary and Barney Miller of Covington, Joyce Heaton of Fayetteville, Janet and Herschel Belcher of Mansfield, Sue Millwood of Covington, Kathy and Stewart Way of Loganville; daughter-in-law, Jeane Bennett of Loganville; 23 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Sarah Baker of Decatur; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Bennett will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2012, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Richard Culpepper and Rev. Bill Burnett officiating, and interment following in Snellville Historical Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, April 24, from 6:00-8:00 PM.
