Sammy Brewer

Sammy Brewer of Atlanta, passed away June 18, 2018, at the age of 47. Sammy loved his church family and was an active and supportive member of Metron Community. A music enthusiast, he enjoyed playing piano and ukulele, and he loved to sing gospel music. Sammy's other hobbies included gardening and cooking. He had a strong sense of family and shared a unique bond with his siblings; Sammy was the glue that held them all together. His quick wit and humorous disposition earned him the title of "family comedian". Gifted with a personality that was both magnetic and charming, Sammy had a way of making everyone feel special. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty May (Ray) Brewer; and brother, Joseph Tyler Brewer.

Survivors include his sisters and brothers-in-law, Stephanie and Joey Ralston, Darlene and Randy Carney; brothers and sister-in-law, Alex and Lisa Brewer, Alvin Brewer; several nieces and nephews; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Memorial Service for Sammy will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018, 4:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Bishop Jim Swilley officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, prior to his service, from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M.
