Sandy Lynn Moody, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at the age of 46. A loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, Sandy was family oriented, and time spent with them is what she treasured most. She was strong-willed, opinionated, and passionate. Sandy enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as Mexican food, fishing, family get-togethers, bowling, and trying her best at dancing. She also liked playing softball, baseball, and board games – especially Scrabble, and was known to be competitive. In addition, Sandy loved traveling to the beach, baking and cooking, and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Michael Dempsey; brother, Jerry Moody; and grandparents, Leahman and Opal Clark.
Survivors include her daughters, Amber Dempsey (Johnny McCullough), Heather Dempsey, Hannah Dempsey (Cass), Blakelee Coker; sons, Christian Michael Dempsey (Shayla), Corey Matthew Dempsey (Cheyenne); grandchildren, Kamey Dempsey, Jace McCullough, Everleigh Dempsey, Aiden Dempsey, Olivia Dempsey, Lilly Dempsey; mother, Mary Frances Jackson; sisters, Judy Oglesby (Brian), Vallery Mote; nieces, McKenzie Cotner, Savannah Cotner, Madison Moody; nephews, Seth Oglesby, Skyler Oglesby; as well as significant other, Thomas H. Coker.
A visitation for Sandy will be held Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M.
Governor Brian Kemp’s latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public.
