Sheila Wade Anderson

Sheila Wade Anderson of Oxford, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019, at the age of 71. Mrs. Anderson was a graduate of the University of Georgia. After graduating, she started her career as a teacher. Mrs. Anderson was a longtime teacher of Rockdale County High School and taught night classes at Georgia State University. She loved her students, and her dedication and passion for teaching was recognized when she was awarded Teacher of the Year. In her free time, Mrs. Anderson enjoyed reading, shopping and traveling. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances (Wade) Doster.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Stephen Leon Anderson; daughter, Michelle Brown; step-daughter, Christy Johnson and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Brooklynn Brown, Abigail Brown; step-grandchildren, Calder Johnson, Ava Johnson; brothers, Mike Wade, Bobby Wade; as well as several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Anderson will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Mike Hardy officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, two hours prior to her service, from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
