Sherry Monroe

Sherry Monroe, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the age of 82. Mrs. Monroe grew up in Greenville, South Carolina and for the last 57 years she resided in the Metro Atlanta area, most recently living in Hiawassee. She retired from Keebler after many years of dedication. In her spare time, Mrs. Monroe enjoyed visiting the Cherokee Casino, and loved taking trips to Vegas a couple times a year. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Monroe; parents, Alexander and Annie Louise Houston; sisters, Nancy Goode, Shelby Pittman, Evelyn “Doodle” Houston, Lucille Bishop; brothers, Buck Houston, Jerry Houston, Alexander Houston.

Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Munson; sons, Mickey Monroe (Allison), Ted Monroe (Joanne); 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, David Houston (Jane); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Monroe will be held in Greenville, South Carolina at a later date.
