Shirley Pickett Watkins

Shirley Pickett Watkins of Covington, passed away December 3, 2018, at the age of 82. Mrs. Watkins was a devout Christian who faithfully worshipped at The Church at Covington for many years. Her most notable attributes, caring and strong-willed, were not the sum of her being. Mrs. Watkins was also vibrant and fun-loving with an awesome sense of humor. She liked to shop and decorate and had a love for all kinds of animals. Friends and family will remember Mrs. Watkins as a kind person who showed compassion for all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiniard and Ina (Lumsden) Pickett; as well as nine siblings.

Mrs. Watkins is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Kirk Watkins; sister, Juanita Kitchens; special friends, Gina Brooks, Bonnie Brooks, Jim Hughes, Judy Langford; niece, Judy Martin; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Watkins will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018, 2:00 P.M., in Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. David Payne officiating. Friends may visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, prior to her service, from 12 Noon - 1:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Church at Covington, 11975 Highway 142, Oxford, Georgia, 30054.
