Sidney Lee Durden of Covington, passed away April 17, 2014, at the age of 71. Mr. Durden worked for Lithonia Lighting for more than 42 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting coins, spending time with his grandkids, eating out and traveling when he was able. He cherished his time in God's Word. Mr. Durden was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Washington and Daisy Lee (Kirkus) Durden; and his brothers, Eugene and Gerald Durden.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Durden of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Gene Higdon of Covington, Tina Fuller of Conyers, Stephanie and Mike Giles of Covington; son, Kevin and Kelli Durden of Covington; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Mildred Patterson of Columbus, Margie and Curtis Kimball of Oxford; brother and sister-in-law, Horace and Jackie Durden of Covington; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Durden will be held at a later date.
