Sidney "Sid" Mccord

Sidney "Sid" McCord of Mansfield, passed away February 6, 2011, at the age of 72. Mr. McCord was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed working on cars, and listening to old music. He was preceded in death by his wife, Venie Elizabeth (McCrary) McCord; parents, Sidney Freeman and Helen Louise (Parker) McCord; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Ronald Banks. Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Chris and Patty McCord of Covington, Clint McCord of Mansfield; grandson, Jesse McCord of Covington; sister, Norma Jean McCord of Covington; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Shirley McCord of Newborn.  A Memorial Service for Mr. McCord will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011, 1:00 PM, at Central Community Church, 11157 City Pond Rd., in Covington, with Pastor Darrell Allen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA  30605.
