Stanley Thompson

Stanley Thompson, of Griffin, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022, at the age of 67. Mr. Thompson was a hard worker and great mechanic. He enjoyed working with his hands. Mr. Thompson loved to travel, especially to Colorado. He liked riding dune buggies and creating model cars. Mr. Thompson loved children, and they loved him in return. He took great joy in being Santa during the holiday season for the kids. Mr. Thompson was a generous man with quite the personality. He was a stubborn force of nature that was particular about doing things his own way. Mr. Thompson loved his family dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Daisy Thompson; sister, Bonnie Fox; and brothers, Ernest Thompson, Cecil Thompson, Nesbit Thompson, Waymon Thompson.

He is survived by his sisters, Dianne Nash, Peggy Miller; brothers, Lynnard Thompson (Lynn), Kenneth Thompson (Charlotte); numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ronnie and Lucy Allen, Scott and Valerie Allen, Kimberly Smith.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Thompson will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Frankie Green officiating, and interment following in Bay Creek Cemetery, 4170 Bay Creek Church Road, in Loganville. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home two hours prior to his service, from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 P.M.
