Tammy Maxey of Covington, passed away August 11, 2017, at 42 years of age. Tammy was of the Christian faith and loved her family dearly. She was editor and writer for various magazines, including the Pivot Point Quarterly and Christian Motorsports - now known as Chrysler Power Magazine. Combining her passion for writing and her love of the Lord, Tammy also authored devotional and faith-based poems. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, John David Maxey, Sr.
Survivors include her loving husband of 19 years, David Maxey; mother, Kathy Coile, and her husband, David; father, Danny Maxwell; sister, Kassie McCauley; maternal grandmother, Sara Witcher; nieces, Kelsey Leachman, Kayla Leachman; nephews, Justin Leachman, Arsen McCauley; sister-in-law, Tracy Leachman; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Myrtle and Tony Owens.
A Funeral Service for Tammy will be held, Tuesday, August 15, 2017, 3 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Lamar Scarbrough officiating. Friends may visit with her family, at the funeral home, two hours prior to the service, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
