Teresa Karen Sheets

Teresa Karen Sheets of Covington, passed away January 4, 2019, at the age of 63. Teresa proudly served in the United States Army and was based at Fort Gordon, in Georgia. After being discharged, she continued to serve as a volunteer at the base hospital and helped with the Waiting Wives Club. Teresa was a member of Harvest Baptist Church where she happily devoted her time to helping with the food bank ministry. At home, Teresa loved studying her Bible, singing and playing piano, and tending to her daylilies. She liked to travel and see new places, enjoyed antiquing and adored spending time with her family - especially her grandchildren. Teresa was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Snare.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Sheets; daughters and son-law, Melissa and Chris Worton, Amy Norton, Rebekah Sheets; son, Robert Sheets; grandchildren, Brittany Worton, Brian Worton, Brooklynn Worton, Brie Worton, Hannah Norton; mother, Ilene Snare; sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Raymond McAuliffe; brother, Ronald Snare; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Teresa will be held Monday, January 7, 2019, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Richard Culpepper officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington. Friends may visit with her family at the funeral home, Sunday, January 6, from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M.
