Thomas Gordon King, III, of Covington, passed away November 6, 2014, at the age of 76. Mr. King was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. In recent years, he attended Bethel Christian Church, in Conyers. He loved country music, dancing, baseball and riding horses. He liked visiting new restaurants and especially enjoyed catfish. Mr. King cherished his family, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Mary King.
Survivors include his daughter, Kim Boss and her husband, Eddie of Conyers; sons, Thomas Gordon King, IV, and his fiancé, Margaret Smith of Lula, Jeff King and his wife, Abra of Covington; grandchildren, Edward Boss, Michelle Cook, Kristina Sliger, Cassie King, Amber King; great-grandchildren, Aurora, AJ, Rosa, JJ; sisters and brother-in-law, Francis and Larry Garner, Ruth Phillips; niece and nephews, Lynn and Jeff Purkiss, Phillip and Tania Garner, Rip Rogers; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mr. King will be held Sunday, November 9, 2014, 2:00 PM, at Bethel Christian Church, 1930 Bethel Road NE, in Conyers, with Pastor Ken Stokes officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday, one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.
