Tommy Smith

Tommy Smith, of Social Circle, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the age of 83. Mr. Smith was in business with his son, Todd, and he retired in 2010. He was a people person with a great sense of humor and lots of friends. Mr. Smith was a member of the “hubclub”, an informal club of old timers in Social Circle. He had a hunting property in Thomaston where he took great joy in spending time at. Mr. Smith was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. Additionally, he loved looking for arrowheads and other treasures with a metal detector. Mr. Smith also liked playing horseshoes, walking, and making homemade wine. He cherished his family dearly. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judy Smith; sons, Todd Smith (Yoli), Ron Smith (Vicki Link), Scott Smith (Cassi); grandchildren, Andy (Jenny), Nick (Jenna), Brandon (Jennifer), Austin, Campbell, Katlyn, Dakota, Paisley; great-grandchildren, Mia, Nora, Caroline, Harper; sister, Shirley Smith Sutton; brothers, Franklin Smith (Jeanette), Sam Rowland (Dawn); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Smith will be held Saturday, February 26. 2022. 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Jimmy Wilson officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home one hour prior to his service from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
