Trevor Rucker Bailey, born August 30, 1990, passed away October 22, 2011, at the age of 21. Trevor was a 2009 graduate of Eastside High School, where he wrestled and played baseball for the Eagles. He loved wrestling, and was Georgia High School Association's State runner-up, in 2008, at 135 lb weight class; and State Champion, in 2009, at 140 lb weight class. After graduation, Trevor received a wrestling scholarship to Darton College, in Albany. He then transferred to Marion Military Institute where he continued wrestling, and was All-American, in 2011. In addition to wrestling, Trevor enjoyed playing baseball, and was chosen to be a part of the Newton County Recreation Department's All-Star team several consecutive years. He excelled at everything he did, and never gave up! He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, music, and singing. Trevor loved his family and friends dearly, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Bailey; and his uncle, Trellis Bailey.Survivors include his loving parents, Tinsley and Stephanie Bailey; brother, Tyler Bailey, all of Covington; grandparents, Charles and Brenda Hall, Jimmy and Gail Brooks; aunts and uncles, Tonia and Darrell Beam, Marie and Ray Bailey, Jeffrey and Janice Brooks, Jody and Karen Brooks, Rochelle Patrick; cousins, Trey Beam, Trint Beam, Ashley Beam, Cody Brooks, Josh Brooks, Jacob Brooks, Jeremy Brooks; and many, many friends. Funeral Services for Trevor will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2011, 2:00 PM, at The Church at Covington, 11975 Highway 142, in Covington, with Rev. Rob Raynor, Dr. Jeff Perkins, and Rev. Bill Stafford officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family at the church Tuesday, October 25, from 6-9 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to a Memorial Fund, set up in Trevor's honor, at Newton Federal Bank.
