Van Lec "Lecky" Hughes

Van Lec "Lecky" Hughes of Decatur, passed away November 14, 2016, at the age of 82. Ms. Hughes earned her Bachelors from Meredeth College, North Carolina. She was a member of Avondale Patillo United Methodist Church, and was a past member of Glen Haven United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abbott Milton and Eilleen (Tyler) McWhorter; sister, Nancy McWhorter Fisher.

Survivors include her sons, Rudolph Alton Hughes of Loganville, Cliff Abbott Hughes of Decatur, Davis Allen Hughes of Duluth; grandchildren, Joshua Abbott Hughes, Amanda and William Ladner; great-grandchildren, Parker Hughes, Hailey Ladner, William Ladner, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Ms. Hughes will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, 2 PM, at Avondale Pattillo United Methodist Church, 3260 Covington Highway, Decatur, GA 30032, with Rev. John Donaldson officiating. A Graveside Service will be held, Wednesday, November 23, 2016, 11:00 AM, at Bethel City Cemetery, Bethel, NC, with Rev. Dennis Peay officiating.
