Nancy "Vance" Morris, cherished teacher, loving family member, and lifelong lover of the outdoors, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, in Covington, GA. Vance was born on Tuesday, January 4th, 1949, in Porterdale, Georgia, and spent her life enriching the lives of those around her. She was 76 years old.

Vance dedicated her career to education, imparting wisdom, kindness, and joy to countless students as a beloved teacher with the Newton County Board of Education in Covington, Georgia. Her love for teaching was evident daily as she inspired children with her passion for learning.

A woman who truly lived life to the fullest, Vance had a wide array of interests. She was an enthusiastic outdoorswoman, finding peace and adventure in camping and hiking. As a sports enthusiast, she played basketball for Newton High School and enjoyed playing softball, where she formed lifelong friendships. Her fondness for music, classic movies, and her great sense of humor brought laughter and warmth to her family and friends.

Family was at the heart of Vance’s life. She leaves behind a close-knit family, including her siblings Tana Ayoob (Tony), Brad Morris (Dede), and Keely Knight (Ken), along with several beloved nieces and nephews, who fondly remember her love and spirit. Vance was predeceased by her parents, Billy Vance Morris and Martha Nancy Morris.

Vance also had a special affection for dogs, often finding companionship and joy in their presence. Her legacy of love and laughter will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew her.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, where friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Vance’s remarkable life. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Services will be held by the family at a later date.
