Virginia L. Brumbalow of Covington, passed away April 4, 2011, at the age of 98. She was born in Greensboro, GA, to the late John B. and Margaretta (Head) Linch. In 1940, she and her late husband, Carl G. Brumbalow, moved to the Mt. Pleasant community, and built their home there in 1957. They were members of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She loved gardening and working with flowers in her yard. Her yard was her labor of love, as shown by its manicured appearance. She often provided flowers from her yard for church services at Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Brumbalow also excelled at both sewing and crocheting.
Survivors include her first cousins, Sara Cooper of Covington, Edwin Head of Atlanta, Ann Jones of Winder, Corine Hanson of Athens; and other second and third cousins.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Brumbalow will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2011, 11:00 AM, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, in Covington, with Rev. Charles Swaney and Rev. Richard Harris officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, Tuesday, April 5, from 6-8 PM. Flowers are acceptable, or donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 12862 Highway 278, Social Circle, GA 30025.
