Virginia Davis

Virginia Davis of Covington, passed away December 30, 2011, at Riverside Health Care. She was 87 years old at the time of her death. Mrs. Davis loved creating ceramic pieces, writing poetry, which included songs, being outside, and gardening. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her church family. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Looney High and Cora (Bowen) Irwin.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Denise Bankston of Conyers; son, Richard C. Ford of Covington; grandchildren, Sandie and Daniel Simpson of Conyers, Patrick Ford of Covington; sisters, Bobby Jean Mock of Waynesboro, Annette Waters of Savannah; brother and sister-in-law, L.H. and Sandra Irwin of Athens; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Davis will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, January 3, from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.
