Virginia Price (Jenny) Durden

Virginia (Jenny) Price Durden, 87, of Covington, passed away October 5, 2013. Mrs. Durden was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Covington. She was a native of Monticello, where she was a star basketball player in high school. She lived in Covington for the past 58 years. She attended Mercer University, and retired from Ace Hardware Distribution Center where she was Office Manager. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, golf and was an avid Braves baseball fan. Mrs. Durden was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hesper (Whitten) Price of Monticello.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, W.R. (Bill) Durden; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Lynn Durden of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law, Delaine and Bill Reeder of Augusta, Gina and Skipper Kitchens of Birmingham, AL; Susan and Bill Richey of Augusta; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Bauman of Michigan, Merrilynn Elliott of Monticello.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Durden will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2013, 11:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church of Covington, with Rev. Ralph Meaker, Rev. Charles Reynolds, and Rev. Tim Barnes officiating, and interment following in Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Monday, October 7, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church - Missions Fund, 1139 Usher Street, Covington, GA 30014.
